The differences between PU and synthetic leather are: different processes, different raw materials, and different uses.

1. Different processes

1. PU: PU is made of nylon ultrafine fibers with similar structure and performance to the bundled collagen fibers in natural leather, and is made into a non-woven fabric with a three-dimensional network structure, and then filled with polyurethane with excellent performance and open microporous structure after post-processing.

2. Synthetic leather: Synthetic leather is made of impregnated non-woven fabric as a mesh layer and a microporous polyurethane layer as a grain layer.

2. Different raw materials

1. PU Leather: The raw material of PU is leather pulp made of cowhide scraps that are crushed and added with resin in proportion.

2. Synthetic leather: The raw material of synthetic leather is a synthetic fiber non-woven fabric as the base, reinforced with fabric in the middle, and impregnated with a polyurethane elastomer solution similar to the composition of natural leather collagen fibers.

3. Different uses

There are many varieties of synthetic leather. In addition to the common characteristics of synthetic fiber non-woven fabric base and polyurethane microporous surface layer, the non-woven fabric fiber varieties and processing techniques of various synthetic leathers are different. They are more than natural leather in chemical resistance, quality uniformity, adaptability to large-scale production and processing, waterproofness, and mildew resistance.

Ultrafine fiber is added to PU polyurethane to further enhance the toughness, breathability, and wear resistance; it has extremely excellent wear resistance, excellent cold resistance, breathability, and aging resistance.
