① Basic manufacturing principle of PU Leather First, manufacture ultrafine fibers (skeleton material) with similar structure and performance to natural dermal collagen fibers; Second, adopt non-woven fabric technology (needle punching or hydroentanglement reinforcement) to manufacture non-woven fabrics with three-dimensional network structure; Finally, impregnation and reduction to obtain ultra-fine fiber base fabrics with excellent performance, microporous structure and high toughness. ② "Sea Island Fibers" - Category (i) Uncertain Island Fibers - Manufacturing Staple Filaments: Two different component polymers (sea/island) are blended and melted and then enter the spinneret for melt spinning. The size, number, distribution and length of the islands in the uncertain island fibers are random, and filaments cannot be produced, only staple fibers can be produced. Common combinations include PA6/PE, PS/PA6, and PET/PE. Manufacturing process: blending of indefinite island sea-island fibers → needle-punched nonwoven fabric → PU impregnation → toluene extraction reduction (dissolving the sea component) - indefinite island fibers; (ii) fixed island fibers - manufacturing filaments: two different component polymers (sea/island) are melted into the spinneret holes respectively. The two liquids come into contact at the moment of spinning. During the spinning process, the islands are not separated and remain in a single filament state. The island components do not adhere during the formation process and are continuous and uniform in the long axis direction. The number of islands is fixed. After dissolving the sea component, fixed island fibers are obtained. Manufacturing process: bonding fixed island sea-island fibers → high-density needle-punched nonwoven fabric → PVA impregnation → PU impregnation → NaOH reduction (dissolving the sea component) - currently used more in filament production.
